Libraries After Dark

December 10, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 5:00pm on Thursday, repeating until December 31, 2020

Get set to venture ‘after dark’ at the Portland Library, with a series of late-night programs, events and activities commencing this week at the library.

Portland Library is set to launch our Libraries after Dark program commencing next Thursday 3 December 2020 with a FREE movie screening from 7pm of the award-winning movie Lion starring Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel.

Promoting the Library as a community lounge and place of welcoming and inclusion the program will see the library extend opening hours until 10pm every Thursday. In the coming weeks we will offer games nights, coffee chats and a whole range of informal and inclusive programs for free, providing a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Keep an eye on the Glenelg Libraries Facebook page as we continue to rollout and announce the weekly Libraries After Dark events and activities.

The Libraries After Dark program is an initiative of the Moreland City Council and supports libraries across Victoria through funds provided by the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation.

The Glenelg Shire was successful in its application due to the high gambling losses recorded and the proximity of the Library to the Shire’s four gaming venues.
